The Director of Mossakowski Medical Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences announces the contest for the position of the assistant professor or professor of the institute or professor and head of the Department of Renal and Body Fluid Physiology to operationalize statutory tasks, conduct research projects and implement one’s vision of scientific development of the Department.

Current research program of the Department of Renal and Body Fluid Physiology:

scientific program is focused on the role of paracrine and metabolic factors modifying kidney function in animal models of hypertension and pharmacologically induced diabetes.

Description of activities:

management of the Department,
proposing and implementing own research topics using a modern methodology,
research team formation,
supervision all the tasks carried out by the Department employees,
obtaining external funds for research projects,
publishing the results of scientific research,
active participation in the scientific activities of the MMRI PAS and scientific community,
introduction of new research technologies to raise the level of scientific research.

The necessary qualification requirements for the manager position:

minimum a Ph.D. degree in biological, medical, or related sciences,
proven experience in obtaining funds,
proven experience in managing research projects or in the leading scientific team,
the ability to propose one's own research topic using a modern methodology,
the multidisciplinarity of research interests and research experience,
ability to modify the research profile in response to public demand,
scientific accomplishments documented by papers published in international scientific journals as the first and/or corresponding author,
experience in designing publication strategies,
documented active participation in conferences,
experience in the popularization of science,
knowledge of etiopathology of human diseases and animal models of these diseases, designing new methods of therapy, planning and conducting preclinical studies and assessing the effectiveness of the therapies used, expertise and practical skills in histological and immunohistochemical techniques, working with laboratory animals, performing experiments and surgeries in animals, laboratory testing including analysis of human and animal material, imaging and ultrasound techniques, molecular biology and in vitro testing, application of multiplex molecular diagnostic platforms,
very good command of English.

Additional requirements (desirable):

ability to work as a team member,
experience of working in an environment oriented towards practical implementation of scientific research,
experience in supervising students and junior researchers,
scientific cooperation with other research centers.

Requirements for the position of the assistant professor:

minimum a Ph.D. degree in biological, medical, or related sciences,
at least, 2 original publications in scientific journals with an impact factor of total IF ≥ 6, including at least 1, in which the candidate is the first, equivalent to the first or corresponding author, published after the Doctorate, but not containing the results of the Doctorate.

Requirements for the position of professor of the institute or professor:

habilitated doctor’s degree or title of professor in biological, medical, or related sciences,
at least, 1 original paper published after habilitation in scientific journals with an impact factor, of total IF ≥ 6, in which the candidate is the first, equivalent to the first or corresponding author,
documented experience in obtaining funds,
previous management of a research team or research project funded by non-institute sources.

a statement that Mossakowski Medical Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences shall be the applicant’s primary place of employment and the managerial function shall be performed full-time,
